Once these practicals are over, these chicks will be culled (at only 2 weeks old). Many of the students are not happy about this, and therefore we are planning to take and rehome some off the chicks. We are looking for homes that can give these chicks long and happy lives, preferably with experience of keeping chickens, although people who are willing to research before getting a chick are welcome to them- but no impulse buys please! This advert is to gain interest, so that we know how many chicks to take, as we don't want to take too many and not be able to find them homes. Please note there are only MALE chicks, who will turn into cockerals (noisy!) so please know what you are getting into before contacting us. I believe two male cockerals will also fight, so take that into consideration! I am also unsure of the breed, sorry. The chicks were born on 28/1/08, so they are still tiny! I will be able to look after them until they are about 8 weeks old, if you would prefer to take on an older chick. Collection only from Reading, Berkshire. Alternatively, collection from Colchester, Essex, with a possibility of delivery for petrol money.
