In some cases more then 50% are added to keep the prices high.It is not a rip off; it has all to do with bookkeeping so as to receive further funding for new developments, developers have to show a huge profit.Although all the developments are more than 30% empty and stay&#39;s empty, the properties sold &quot;well above the real value&quot; are sufficient to receive further funding for new developments. And so the wheels keep turning and more and more are build. The Spanish law tried to suppress this behaviour, but the developers found ways around it.When the time has arrived for you to sell it on, you will find that you won&#39;t be able to sell it for what you bought it for. It has nothing to do with the credit crunch, the locals are still booming in buying and selling properties, the only difference, they know what the values of properties are.This is going on all over Spain, and not only centred at where the brits are.
If you want to do it your self, you can do it. But keep this in mind.
